A Comprehensive Guide to Setting up Your Google Shopping Feed

A Comprehensive Guide to Setting up Your Google Shopping Feed bull tech

Setting up your Google Shopping feed can be a straightforward process or a complicated one, depending on your website’s e-commerce platform. Fortunately, some platforms make it easy to import products from your store to Google Merchant Center through a widget or app, or by integrating directly with Google Merchant Center, as is the case with Shopify. For other platforms, however, it may be more complex, requiring manual formatting of the feed to follow Google’s Shopping product data specifications.

If you’re using Bull Tech, you can follow these five simple steps to manually submit your product feed:

    1. Click the plus sign under “Primary Feeds” to add a feed.

    2. Choose the country and language for your product feed, and select at least one destination to enable your Shopping ads to show. Click “Continue.”

    3. Give your feed a name and select one of the following delivery options to send it to Google Merchant Center:

    • Google Sheets: Make updates to your product data in a Google Sheet, and they’ll automatically be applied to your account.
    • Scheduled Fetch: Host a file on your website that contains data and schedule a regular time for Google to fetch updates.
    • Upload: Keep a file on your computer that contains data and regularly upload it to your account through SFTP, FTP, Google Cloud Storage, or a manual upload.
    • Content API: Use the Content API for Shopping to automatically upload product listings and make your products easily discoverable through Google Shopping.

    4. Follow the instructions to complete the product data feed connection. For an upload delivery option, you’ll need to choose an Excel file to upload, check the box to upload the file as a test, and then click “Create Feed.”

    5. Test your feed. You will be taken back to the feed management page, where you can check the progress and fix any errors before applying the changes and pushing your feed live.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your products are easily discoverable through Google Shopping and reach a wider audience. If you have any questions or need further assistance, Bull Tech is always here to help.
